It was another fruitful and pleasant afternoon at Studio Moskou today. One more important step in completing the recording for this EP which has been so long in the making: the recording of the violin parts! Looking back, it is so clear to me why we should never underestimate the importance of involving musicians we feel comfortable around. People who bring an open, prepared, experienced and relaxed mind to the table. I’m lucky that I get to work with Silvia and Julia. It made for a stress-free recording session, where everyone is focused on the job, all opinions are considered, choices are made and the work gets done.
Some impressions, Julia in the recording room and with Silvia at the control desk:
The search for a viola player is still ongoing, by the way. I wish I could have reported some update on that front but alas. It’s safe to say that once we’re ready to record that part, we will do so at Studio Moskou. I think it’s a good idea to have all the strings recorded with the same mics, in the same room. Apart from that, I’m just really looking forward to continuing my collaboration with Silvia 🙂
So, until next time!
Misha
